Trauma-informed Public Health – approaches to resilience and trauma informed public health

We invite you to the 6th International Summer School on Public Mental Health, hosted by the Medical University of Gdańsk in collaboration with the European Public Health Association (EUPHA), Public Mental Health Section, and co-funded by the European Union.
This year’s theme focuses on:
Trauma-Informed Public Health – understanding the role of trauma and strengthening resilience in public health systems.
What to Expect
The Summer School opens with an international conference on June 2, 2025, followed by four intensive and inspiring days filled with:
- Lectures by leading experts from across Europe
- Interactive workshops and group work
- Participant presentations and peer collaboration
- A festive dinner and networking activities
- An official certificate ceremony with special guests – including Charlotte Merchandise

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will have gained:
- A solid understanding of how trauma affects mental and physical health
- The ability to assess the impact of traumatic life events
- Insight into trauma-informed care and systemic responses
- Knowledge of resilience and post-traumatic growth
- Skills in critical appraisal of scientific literature on traumatic stress
